Chrome user agent for Windows 10 and 11

Copy this Windows Chrome UA example, or check your own browser with the user agent parser. The example uses Chrome 154; it is a reference string, not a live check of your installed version.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/154.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Why does Windows 11 show Windows NT 10.0?

Chrome's reduced user agent uses a frozen Windows platform token. Windows NT 10.0 does not reliably distinguish Windows 10 from Windows 11, and Win64; x64 does not establish the machine's actual CPU architecture.

For the current browser, supported User-Agent Client Hints can supply additional platform or architecture information. They cannot recover missing information from an old or pasted user agent string.

Why does the Chrome version end in 0.0.0?

Chrome's reduced desktop UA keeps the major browser version while replacing the remaining version components with zeros. The Safari/537.36 token is a compatibility token; it does not mean the browser is Apple's Safari.

To see the UA exposed by your browser, open the checker or run the JavaScript below. For feature support, test the feature itself rather than making decisions from the UA alone.

console.log(navigator.userAgent);

String breakdown

FragmentMeaning
Mozilla/5.0Historical compatibility token. Nearly every browser claims "Mozilla/5.0" so that old servers do not serve it broken pages.
Windows NT 10.0Windows NT kernel 10.0 — Windows 10 or 11 (the value is frozen at 10.0).
Win6464-bit Windows.
x64x86-64 (64-bit) CPU architecture.
AppleWebKit/537.36WebKit rendering engine, build 537.36. Chromium browsers keep this token for compatibility.
KHTML, like GeckoCompatibility note: the engine descends from KHTML and behaves like Gecko. Kept for legacy browser sniffers.
Chrome/154.0.0.0Chrome (or a Chromium-based browser), version 154.0.0.0.
Safari/537.36Safari/WebKit build 537.36 — a compatibility token, not the Safari version. Chromium browsers send it too.
